Frosted Ricotta Cheese Cookies

2 cups sugar
1 15 ounce container of ricotta cheese
2 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend butter, sugar and cheese. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in salt and baking soda and flour (1 cup at a time). Drop on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, 12-15 minutes or until golden.
Frosting
1 pound powdered sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons milk
Directions:
Beat ingredients together. Add more milk if needed for spreading consistency. Frost cooled cookies.
Makes 6 dozen cookies.

My husband and I went to the California wine country for our honeymoon about 8 years ago. On our trip we found this little meat shop and picked up some of Angelo's delicious beef jerky as we cruised around in our convertible hopping from vineyard to vineyard.
